Appointment of board positions allows the founder to better align and maintain consistent leadership in performing the mission. Board members can be appointed or voted in. God does not call committees! He calls individuals to lead and serve.
One of the benefits of a 508(c)(1)(a) ministry is the ability to appoint board members. Most 501(c)(3) ministries do not offer this governance option.
