Protect Your Ministry From These Scams
The Official Washington State Website has this consumer alert posted on their website: None of these solicitations to file an annual report come from our office. Don’t be fooled by misleading solicitations. The WA State Attorney General has filed suit against the owners of several of these companies including:
- WA.EFILEBUSINESS.COM
- ANNUAL.EFILEBUSINESS.COM
- FILEWASHINGTON.COM
- BUSINESS COMPLIANCE SERVICES
Listed below are other companies that are misleading and scamming ministries. Awareness of how they do this is key!
THE 508 COMPANY
508 Compliance Test is an automated program on answering questions Corey Scott made up. There are no 508 compliance responses in law or with the IRS. The IRS has never defined the minimum criteria to qualify a church. Corey just made this up. These questions and the subsequent score are pure fiction. They are not accurate or recognized in any way by the IRS for a church.
Corey Scott is running a scam. He has no education, certification, or training to represent people in tax or legal issues. He is practicing law and giving tax advice without a license. He could not represent any organization, including his own, with any IRS hearing, tax court, or any court of law.
DESTINY 508
We set up Todd and Tamara’s ministry a few years ago. They asked to be our affiliate and refer people to us. They signed a contract that stipulates Helping Hand Outreach’s (HHO) teaching, education, process, and forms are exclusively owned by HHO and may not be used without express written permission.
Todd & Tamara have violated our contract and used our information and process without permission and claimed it as their own. They have no education or training in any of the products and services we have developed. They do not have accurate information on organizing or operating nonprofits. They do not provide all the required filings. They started pretending to be 508 experts in July 2021.
